MID Certified DC energy meter for EV Charging
As we all know the energy meter which exported to Europe must be MID certified since 2006. IVY METERING’s AC energy meters such as Lorawan energy meter and bidirectional RS485 Modbus energy meter are MID approved- Module B+Module D.
A guide to understand MID and the German Eichrecht standard
MID= Measuring Instruments Directive, and it was born in 2004 but took effect in 2006, revision for ev charging in 2015. German Eichrecht standard=Eichrecht regulations=“Mess- und Eichgesetz” = Measurement and Calibration Law=German Calibration Regulation, it’s not new and it's born in 1988
LoRa and LoRaWAN technology principle and advantages and disadvantages
LoRa and LoRaWAN are currently very popular wireless communication technologies in the field of Internet of Things, LoRa is a physical layer technology, LoRaWAN is a communication protocol. They adopt low-power wideband wireless modulation technology, which can provide long distance communication service in long distance, low speed and low power.
Lorawan Energy Meter & Antennas
Lorawan energy meters are also known as:Lorawan electricity meter, lorawan power meter, Lorawan smart energy meter etc. LoRaWAN is a Media Access Control (MAC) layer protocol built on top of LoRa modulation. so we can say we build our Lorawan energy meter based on LoRa technology.
Frequency Band & LoRaWAN Meter
LoRaWAN specifies 10 regional parameter standards (LoRa node development - LoRaWAN parameter standards in different regions), but some countries or regions have more than one ISM band, so multiple regional parameter standards can be used in some countries or regions. The available frequency bands in some countries or regions are as follows:
MID & Eichrecht - compliance of EV chargers
Note that so-called 'PTB compliant' chargers actually comply with the German calibration law (Eichrecht). Eichrecht = compliance with MID + “customer protection”: the customer must be able to check charge session data hours/days/months after the actual session...
