3.Why some Lorawan energy meter with Antenna and some Lorawan power meter without external antenna?
Common antennas are PCB board mounted antennas, ceramic antennas, spring antennas, rod antennas, FRP antennas, and suction cup antennas.The antenna is not used to receive information, it is mainly a function of signal gain, which is to strengthen the signal, and the popular point is to make the communication smoother, and the meter can receive the signal by itself with a lorawan module.In addition, the actual frequency band used by the LoRa antenna should be consistent with the frequency band range supported by the LoRa antenna. For example, the 915M antenna should be used in the 915M frequency band. If the 915M antenna is used in the 868M frequency band, the effect will be poor
Usually Lorawan energy meters are equipped with external antennas, such as suction cup antenna and glue stick antenna, suction cup antenna has a base and a long cables such as 3m 5m, and the glue stick antenna looks like a small black stick.Of course, there are also Lorawan meters without antennas, and if the distance from the gateway is very close, you can do without an antenna, or use a built-in antenna, the Lorawan smart meter with built-in antenna signal is generally very poor.
4.So what is the difference between the suction cup antenna and the glue stick antenna?
The suction cup antenna is relatively long, the volume is relatively large, but the signal enhancement effect is better, for example, some suction cup antennas can ensure that 2km-3km data is not lost and the transmission speed is faster.
The main advantage of the glue stick antenna is that the glue stick is short, so the overall volume is smaller, if the distance requirements are not very strict, some technicians will choose the glue stick antenna.
5.Is there a frequency band for Lorawan, and how should users choose it?
LoRaWAN has official regional specifications, called Regional Parameters, that you can download from the LoRa Alliance website.LoRaWAN operates in the unlicensed ISM (Industrial, Scientific, and Medical) bands. The table below lists all the frequency plans and their common names.But In some countries, more than one frequency plan may be used.
