  • Multi-tariff: The meter supports up to four different tariffs.

  • Communication protocols: Both IR and RS485 communication protocols are supported for flexible integration.

  • Customizable display: Users can customize the displayed parameters.

4. The importance of CT-connected energy meters

Safety:

  • Isolation: CTs (Current Transformers) provide electrical isolation between the high-voltage primary circuit and the low-voltage secondary circuit connected to the meter. This significantly reduces the risk of electrical shock to personnel during installation, maintenance, and operation.

  • Reduced Current: CTs step down the high current flowing in the primary circuit to a much lower, safer level for the meter to measure.

Accuracy and Reliability:

  • High Accuracy: CTs are designed to provide accurate current measurements, leading to more precise energy readings.

  • Reduced Interference: CTs minimize the impact of electromagnetic interference on the meter's measurements, ensuring reliable and accurate data.

Versatility and Flexibility:

  • Wide Current Measurement Range: CTs enable the measurement of high currents that would otherwise exceed the capabilities of the meter itself.

  • Flexibility in Installation: CTs can be installed around existing conductors, allowing for easier installation and retrofitting in existing systems.

Cost-Effectiveness:

  • Reduced Metering Costs: CTs can reduce the overall cost of metering by enabling the use of lower-cost meters for high-current applications.

Improved Grid Management:

  • Enhanced Grid Stability: Accurate and reliable current measurements are crucial for grid stability and efficient power distribution. CT-connected meters contribute to a more stable and efficient grid.

CT-connected energy meters offer a safer, more accurate, and more versatile solution for measuring energy consumption in high-current applications. They are essential for ensuring reliable and efficient energy distribution and management in modern power systems.
